Deerfield Beach, FL
A brand-new 24-hour online station launched today, serving the Century Village community of South Florida. CV Radio is owned and operated by Pretty Cool Media and is unaffiliated with Century Village. Benji Kurtz, one of the principals of the firm, enjoys spending time at his family’s condo in Grantham A several times a year.
“When my family purchased the condo a couple of years ago, it struck me that there was no radio station where the community could come together to enjoy the music of its generation and hear announcements and information specifically about The Village,” noted Kurtz. “South Florida radio has virtually forgotten all the great music that Village residents grew up with in the 50s, 60s and early 70s. This amazing music from Motown and Soul to Rock & Roll needs a home, and now it has one. That’s what ‘Our Village, Our Music’ is all about.”
“We know how important weather is to South Floridians, so we have customized local forecasts twice hourly around the clock, and if you follow CV Radio on Facebook, you can get the extended forecast daily right in your newsfeed,” continued Kurtz.
Pretty Cool Media has assembled a team of seasoned professionals who have put CV Radio together. In addition to Kurtz and partner Todd Michaels, who each have decades of radio programming experience, CV Radio is proud to have veteran radio programmer Dennis Winslow as a consultant. Winslow is a Florida radio veteran, having worked in Tampa, West Palm Beach and Gainesville, in addition to heading up stations in Atlanta, Houston, and Philadelphia. Additionally, listeners will enjoy voices from a multitude of seasoned radio pros throughout the day.
As the station launches, Kurtz is putting the call out for Century Village residents interested in being a part of the team. “We would love to get some features on the air that are developed by residents. If you have prior experience in the radio industry, or think you’d enjoy being on the air in some form or fashion, we’d definitely like to hear from you. Please email us directly at [email protected],” said Kurtz.
Access to the music and community news and information on CV Radio was designed to be as easy as possible, with multiple ways to access the stream. CV Radio is available to listeners by downloading the CV Radio app in the App Store or Google Play Store, as well as the iHeartRadio or TuneIn apps. Listeners can also find the station at its website, OurVillageOurMusic.com. If you have any Alexa-enabled device, you can even tell Alexa to ‘Play CV Radio’!
CV Radio and Pretty Cool Media are independently owned and operated and are not affiliated with Century Village East, CenClub Recreation Management, COOCVE or CV Trademark, Inc. or its subsidiaries.
